About the course
The expression Caricature originated from Italian caricare, which means “to carry, in the sense of exaggerating, to increase something in proportion”, emerged in the 17th century with the painter Agostino Carracci from Bologna, who created a gallery with caricatures of popular types in his city.
In general, the caricature is a graphical representation whose main purpose is emphasize and exaggerate the characteristics of a person, animal or object.
THE caricature presents a humorous, comical and/or ironic portrayal with regard to the physical aspects of the caricatured object and to psychological and/or behavioral aspects, as gestures, vices and particular habits.
